The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Friday, June 7 advised residents of Luzon and Visayas to prepare for scattered rains and thunderstorms in the week ahead, due to the expected impact of the southwest monsoon or “habagat” in these areas.
In its weekly weather outlook for June 7-14, PAGASA said the prevalence of the southwest monsoon will result in mostly cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms, mostly in the afternoon or evening, over the western sections of Luzon and Visayas from Friday to Saturday, June 7 to 8.
Meanwhile, across the rest of the country, partly cloudy to cloudy skies are expected with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
From Sunday to Tuesday, June 9 to 11, PAGASA said the western sections of Northern and Central Luzon are expected to experience scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the habagat, while isolated rain showers or thunderstorms are anticipated in other parts of the country.
From Wednesday to Friday, June 12 to 14, PAGASA said the habagat will bring mostly cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms, particularly in the afternoon or evening, over the western sections of Luzon and Visayas.
Meanwhile, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms are likely in the remaining areas of the country.
