The Filipinas will tussle Austria on Friday, June 7, for a ticket in the semifinals.
And if they manage to win over the Austrians, the Filipinas will arrange a rematch against the Ukrainians in the semifinals.
Ukraine is the lone team that remains unscathed in the eight-country regional tiff which is part of the global qualifiers for the FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series Final set on Sept. 7-8 in Hangzhou, China.
Over at the other bracket, Mongolia and Thailand will lock horns with the winner setting up a semis clash with China.
Before entering the quarters, Gilas Pilipinas opened its campaign with a 10-21 defeat to Mongolia.
But they bounced back via a 21-12 triumph in their second game against the U23 cagers of the hometown team. However, they fell at the hands of Pool A top seed Ukraine, 16-21, to wrap up the pool stage.
