Man nabbed for physical abuse, illegal possession of firearms in Indang
CAVITE – Authorities arrested a man for alleged physical abuse and illegal possession of firearms in Indang on Tuesday, June 4.
Cavite Police Provincial Office identified the suspect as "Den."
Den's live-in partner personally appeared at the Indang Municipal Police Station (MPS) to report an incident of physical abuse.
Initial investigation revealed that the suspect and the victim had a heated argument sparked by jealousy, leading the suspect to punch the victim in her stomach and strangle her.
The victim also reported that Den possessed a firearm.
Arresting officers, along with barangay officials, proceeded to the scene of the crime to verify the report and arrest the suspect.
Confiscated from Den were a .22 caliber rifle, 10 pieces of .22 caliber live ammunition, and a .38 caliber revolver.
The suspect is now under the custody of Indang MPS and is facing charges for violating the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act and the Anti-Violence against Women and Their Children Act.
