Two delivery riders were arrested by members of the Pasay City police in an entrapment operation on June 5 for selling a stolen air purifier.

City Police Chief Col. Samuel Pabonita identified the suspects as alias Lloyd, 24, of Sitio Libjo, Sto. Nino, Parañaque City; and alias Ken, 30, of General Trias, Cavite City. Both are delivery riders of YTO Express Philippines.

Pabonita said the suspects were arrested at around 6:15 p.m. at the back of Chowking restaurant located along EDSA Extension, Barangay 76, Zone 10, Pasay City.

He said the police planned the entrapment after receiving a tip from alias Marcelo who reported that he would be going to meet the suspect after showing his interest in buying an air purifier.

The city police chief said Marcelo transacted with the suspects for the purchase of a Dyson Purifier Cool worth P 97,090 which was posted on Facebook's Marketplace.

Pabonita said Marcelo claimed the air purifier was reported missing last May 16.

The suspects are now detained at the police custodial facility and were charged for violation of the anti-fencing law.
