Carl Tamayo has found a new home at the Changwon LG Sakers in the Korean Basketball League.

Coming from Japan B.League, Tamayo signed to the LG Sakers with an undisclosed deal for the upcoming KBL season, the team announced Wednesday, June 5.
He replaced his compatriot Justin Gutang, who had decent numbers and suited up for almost two years with Changwon.
In his rising career, the former UP Maroon played limited minutes for the Ryukyu Golden Kings where he won a title in his rookie season.
The following year, Tamayo left the Japanese club where he played 39 games.
The Cebu native’s departure gave him the opportunity to compete for the Gilas Pilipinas in the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers last February, beating Hong Kong and Chinese Taipei for a 2-0 standing.
Tamayo’s addition will be a huge boost for the Sakers who concluded their campaign and reached the semifinals and held a 31-19 win-loss card.
With Tamayo’s signing in the Korean tournament, he will join fellow Filipinos Dave Ildefonso of the Suwon KT Sonicboom and Daegu KOGAS Pegasus’ SJ Belangel.
