Police net P714,000 shabu in La Carlota City

BACOLOD CITY â€“ Police seized 105 grams of suspected shabu worth P714,000 from a couple in a buy-bust operation in Barangay III (Poblacion), La Carlota City, Negros Occidental on Tuesday, June 4.

Arrested were a 27-year-old man and his 24-year-old live-in partner, both residents of this city, who were target-listed in Western Visayas.

According to an operative of the Philippine National Police (PNP)-Drug Enforcement Group Special Operation Unit (PDEG-SOU)-6 (Western Visayas), the woman is Top 1 in the regional target list of the police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

Both are high-value individuals.

The man was previously arrested for a drug offense but was later released from jail due to plea bargaining.

Drug charges are being readied against the couple who are detained at La Carlota City Police Station.

The operation was conducted in coordination with the Bacolod City Maritime Police, Regional Intelligence Division (RID)-6, Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU)-6, and the Integrity Monitoring Enforcement Group (IMEG) Visayas Field Unit.
