K-pop boy band TWS drops pre-release single 'hey! hey!'

TWS, the rookie K-pop boy band under HYBE and Pledis Entertainment, unveiled their pre-release single “hey! Hey!” and its music video on June 5. 

The track is about to generate significant buzz as part of the six-piece act’s highly anticipated second mini-album “Summer Beat!” set for release on June 24.

“hey! hey!” narrates the journey of a solitary youth who discovers companionship in others who share the same dream. Together, they form a team, supporting each other along the way. The track audibly captures the TWS members' relentless pursuit of their goals and serves as a metaphor for TWS' unwavering passion.

Maintaining their unique musical sound called “Boyhood pop,” the pre-release single is driven by powerful guitar riffs and heart-pounding drums, captivating listeners with its vibrant energy. Over the strong melody and dynamic beats, TWS members' refreshing vocal tones create a cool, ocean wave-like summer atmosphere. Energetic chants like "We don't stop" and "hey! hey!" further bring the song to life.

In the music video released on official HYBE LABELS’ YouTube Channel along with the track, six members of TWS embark on a spontaneous trip to create memories together. Throwing off their backpacks, they play basketball on the street, take photos of the scenery from a bus, and enjoy the freedom with their arms spread wide in front of the sunset at the beach. The sentiment of the music video delivers genuine beauty and sentiments of youth.

The choreography teased in the music video also complements the track and its narrative. Anticipation mounts over whether “hey! hey!” will recreate a challenge craze as massive as the one sparked by their debut title song "plot twist," which gained widespread popularity with its easy-to-follow dance moves and catchy, earworm melody.

TWS pronounced “Two-Us”) debuted in January as the first boy group from Pledis Entertainment in nine years since Seventeen.
