Major Gen. Marion Sison, 3rd ID commander, has activated all their Disaster Response Task Units (DRTUs) in Negros Island for Kanlaon.
"Our troops are well-equipped and trained. We are on stand ready to deliver immediate assistance to ensure the safety and well-being of the residents affected by the eruption,” said Sison.
“The 3rd ID will continue to closely monitor the situation and will be ready to respond, as needed, to address emerging challenges. Rest assured that we will sustain our humanitarian assistance and disaster response operations for all Negrenses until normalcy is restored.”
The operation was part of the 3rd ID’s Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response Operations (HADRO) following the eruption last June 3.
Units under the 303rd Infantry Brigade (IB) will provide medical aid, logistical needs, and support evacuation efforts.
The 3rd ID is closely coordinating with concerned local government units (LGUs) and other national government agencies on Kanlaon.
"The synergy between your Army and local authorities is vital in effectively managing this disaster,” Sison said.
