With classes now over, the Taguig City government launched its Operation Libreng Tuli (circumcision) in different barangays.
With the help of the Medical Assistance Office, the city government said the free circumcision will be done by a group of doctors, nurses and other medical personnel. They will provide free antibiotics, pain relievers and guidance on care after the operation.
The operation is open to all regardless of age.

The Operation Libreng Tuli started on June 4 in Barangay Cembo and will be held in the following barangays: June 5, East Rembo; June 6, Ususan; June 7, Bagumbayan; and June 8, Maharlika.
Each day 500 people will be admitted from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the operation will be held the following day.
The city government reminded the public to ensure that children have taken a mean before undergoing the operation and to bring snacks including biscuits to prevent dizziness.
A child should be accompanied by a guardian on the day of operation and they need to bring a consent form and ID of the patient and guardian.
“Circumcision is a surgery to remove the skin that covers the tip of the penis, also called the foreskin. For some families, circumcision is a religious ritual. The procedure also can be a matter of cultural or ethnic traditions, personal hygiene, or preventive healthcare. But for others, circumcision doesn't seem to be needed, or it seems risky,” according to the Mayo Clinic website.
