Seizure of food supply shows China has 'zero common sense' – PH Navy spokesman

The alleged attempt by Chinese maritime forces to take food supply intended for Filipino troops stationed in Ayungin (Second Thomas) Shoal in the West Philippine Sea (WPS) indicated that they have “zero common sense.”

Commodore Roy Vincent Trinidad, PN spokesperson for WPS, made the bold take as he suspected that the Chinese personnel must have been expecting that they would find construction materials inside the food packages.

“They lack common sense. We could not airdrop construction materials. Their narrative is they do the blocking because of the construction materials. I would like to point out that they have zero common sense,” he said.

The AFP conducted an airdrop resupply mission on May 19 in Ayungin Shoal to bring food and other provisions for troops onboard BRP Sierra Madre.

However, Chinese personnel allegedly seized one of the four food packages, according to AFP Chief General Romeo Brawner Jr.

“We will see that what appeared there are all food stuff,” Trinidad said.
