The Philippines and United Arab Emirates (UAE) intend to make their relationship deeper by exploring more opportunities in trade.

During their meeting at the Malacañan Palace on Tuesday, June 4, President Marcos and UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan both expressed their intention to enhance their partnership in investments and trade.
"We have built very close relationship with the UAE and we hope that we will continue in that pattern," Marcos told the UAE official.
"We extend that relationship further and make it deeper," Marcos added.
The foreign minister, on the other hand, recognized that the two countries' relationship has grown but it is not enough, stressing the need to enhance it further.
"Our relationship is growing, but not enough. We could do much better. It could be much better because I think we have an interest to further enhance it. But also the Philippines has shown that it’s been welcoming investors, we would like to do more trade, and to finalize and sit down with the Philippines," he told Marcos.
Meanwhile, the two officials also exchanged expressions of gratitude in terms of the assistance both sides have been extending to each other.
Marcos said the Philippines is grateful for all the assistance and the kindness that UAE has extended to the Philippines and the Filipinos.
"And I hope that we are able to reciprocate somehow because we are very grateful for the assistance that you have done," he added.
The UAE side also thanked the Philippines for being supportive to the UAE, and for Filipinos in the Emirates for showing love and dedication throughout the years of their stay in the foreign land.
"My President sends his regards, his gratitude to you, sir, to the Philippines, for how you’ve always been welcoming UAE, supportive to the UAE, and most of all how the Filipino people who have considered UAE as a second home have shown throughout those years not only dedication but love," he said.
The foreign minister also expressed appreciation to Filipinos for always being welcoming to Emiratis when they visit the Philippines.
"I would say, sir, when the Emiratis, when they come to the Philippines they never feel leaving here. You really make them feel at home. So thank you very much," he said.
