Before the official announcement from the Palace on the appointment, Marcos was seen introducing the new special envoy to the UAE foreign minister during the latter's courtesy call to the President.

On the same day, singer Imelda Papin was also named as an acting member of the Board of Directors of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).
