"Operations at Bacolod-Silay Airport have resumed as of 11 a.m. today, following last night’s grounding of flights due to the phreatic eruption of Kanlaon Volcano,” said CAAP Area in an announcement on Facebook.

Thousands of passengers were affected when flights to and from Bacolod-Silay Airport in Negros Occidental province and Iloilo Airport in Iloilo province were grounded.

Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific flights at both airports resumed.

Parreño added that Air Asia resumed flights at Iloilo Airport.

But he said that flight resumptions are based on the condition that no major disturbance from Mount Kanlaon occurs again.
