These figures were presented on Tuesday during a Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (LDRRMC) meeting presided over by Mayor Jose Chubasco Cardenas with Gov. Manuel Sagarbarria.
The evacuation centers for these barangays were Jose B. Cardenas Memorial High School Annex Uptown Hall and Kanlaon Central School.
One-hundred fifty-five individuals living in 47 households are staying in evacuation centers while the others affected opted to stay with their relatives in the city.
There were families hesitant to leave because of their properties but the local government advised them to follow the evacuation procedures for their safety.
The city government has activated its incident command system and coordinated with various hospitals in neighboring areas.
Evacuees have received basic essentials such as face masks and food supplies.
“The first objective is to ensure the safety of all responders and the general public,” Cardenas said.
The city government is collecting data from affected areas to assess the situation, especially livestock and agriculture.
