CAMP FLORENDO, La Union – Fishermen found a pack of shabu floating on the West Philippine Sea in Barangay Daclapan, Cabugao, Ilocos Sur on Saturday night, June 29.

PACKS of shabu continue to be found on the West Philippine Sea in Ilocos Sur.
The Ilocos Sur Provincial Forensic Unit confirmed the contraband as shabu with a weight of 997.51 grams and valued at P6,783,068.
Police said the item in a transparent aqua blue plastic pack was brought ashore and reported to the Cabugao Police Station.
Hours later on Sunday, June 30, fishermen recovered two packs of suspected shabu on the WPS in Barangay Apatot, San Esteban, Ilocos Sur.
The San Esteban police brought the items to the Ilocos Sur Provincial Police Forensic Unit for testing and further confirmation.
Last week, a total of 80 packs of shabu were also found on the sea of Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Norte, weighing a total of 80 kilos and worth P550.5 million.
Ilocos police chief Police Brig. Gen. Lou F. Evangelista encouraged the community to remain vigilant and report such discovery to authorities.
Evangelista said they are collaborating with other law enforcement agencies to find the origin of these contraband.
Ilocos Sur Provincial Board Member Efren Rafanan said that authorities are scouring the coastal areas of Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Norte to locate remaining packs of floating shabu.
