Nolcom urges communist rebels to surrender

CAMP Aquino, Tarlac City – The Armed Forces-Northern Luzon Command on Sunday appealed to New People’s Army rebels to surrender, saying the government is always ready to accept and help them.

The Nolcom made the appeal following an encounter on June 26 where troops successfully neutralized several communist rebels in Barangay Malbang, Pantabangan, Nueva Ecija. Among those killed were key leaders of the Komiteng Rehiyon Gitnang Luzon.

Lt. Gen. Fernyl G. Buca, Nolcom chief, commended operating troops for their dedication and effectiveness in safeguarding the region.

He thanked residents for their commitment to peace and cooperation and eradicating lawless elements.

Nolcom vowed to continue running after NPA rebels in its jurisdiction.
