Laborer slays drinking buddy in Ilocos Norte

CAMP JUAN, Ilocos Norte â€“ A 56-year-old construction worker was allegedly stabbed to death by his drinking buddy during an altercation n Barangay Puttao, Solsona, Ilocos Norte on Saturday, June 29.

Police identified the victim as Ronald Daquioag, a resident of Barangay Juan, Solsona.

Investigation said the victim decided to go home during a drinking session with the suspect, Rodrigo Asuncion, 66, caretaker, of Barangay 55 Salet, Laoag City Ilocos Norte, and two companions.

The suspect asked for the remaining bottle of gin, irking the victim who obtained a bolo and a knife from his tricycle.

The victim hacked the suspect in right arm. Asuncion parried the bolo, grabbed the knife from the victim, and stabbed the victim once in the abdomen.

Daquioag died on the spot. The suspect fled but was arrested in Barangay Laureta, Solsona. Police recovered the weapon used in the crime.

Electrician shot dead

CAMP FLORENDO, La Union â€“ A 42-year-old electrician gunned down on the Villasis-Asingan Road in Barangay Piaz, Villasis, Pangasinan on Saturday, June 29.

Police said the victim Johnny was driving his motorcycle when a man appeared and shot him in the head.

Johnny died on the spot and police are conducting follow-up investigation.
