Easterlies to bring rains, thunderstorms — PAGASA

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Sunday, June 30, said the easterly winds affecting the country's eastern regions may bring rain showers and thunderstorms to some areas within the next 24 hours.

Warm winds from the Pacific Ocean, also known as “easterlies,”may cause cloudy weather with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in the Davao Region.

PAGASA warned that flash floods or landslides may occur in the region due to moderate to heavy rains.

Easterlies may also bring partly cloudy to cloudy weather with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms to Caraga, Eastern Visayas, Bicol Region, Aurora, and Quezon.

The rest of the country, including Metro Manila, will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA also advised the public to remain vigilant as flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

According to Weather Specialist Grace Castañeda, PAGASA has not monitored a potential weather disturbance that may affect the country in the next few days.
