E-bike driver hits trailer truck in Pandacan, Manila

A Chinese man was injured after the electric bicycle he was driving hit a trailer truck on the southbound lane of Mabini Bridge in Manila on Sunday, June 30.

The Manila Police District (MPD) identified the e-bicycle driver as Zhang Guodong, a resident of Pandacan, Manila.

According to the police report, the incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. at the southbound of Mabini Bridge in Sta. Mesa, Manila.

Police said the e-bicycle and the trailer truck, driven by Miguel Sibayan, were traveling the southbound lane of Nagtahan Street.

The truck was slowing down as it passed the Mabini Bridge due to a road construction when that the e-bicycle suddenly hit the truck from behind, police said.

The e-bicycle driver sustained a laceration on his head and was brought to the Manila Doctors Hospital, while the trailer truck incurred an undetermined amount of damage.

Police added that the incident is still under investigation.
