The city government of Pasay opened an eco linear park located in Barangay 143 that aims to provide a safer and better place for skateboarding enthusiasts.
Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said the eco linear park, which was constructed in coordination with the Junior Chamber International (JCI) Manila, was opened last May 31 to help promote Pasay City as the first smart and sustainable EcoCity in the country.
“This Linear Skatepark is truly complementary to our grand vision of being a smart and sustainable EcoCity. A city that thrives through green innovations while maintaining the thrust to elevate our people's lives and lifestyles -- with the Linear Skatepark serving as a venue to promote camaraderie, bonding, and sporting endurance to one and all,” Rubiano said.
The mayor said the eco and skate park will not only be a venue for skateboarding enthusiast but also for young people to better develop their skills in the action sport.
Rubiano said the skate park will also help young adults avoid getting involved in bad habits and vices.
