Cops nab woman for trying to sell 2-month-old baby online for P60,000
TACLOBAN CITY – Police arrested a 23-year-old woman from San Roque town in Northern Samar on Saturday, June 1, for allegedly attempting to sell her two-month-old baby online for P60,000 or about $1,000.

The suspect whose identity was undisclosed put out an advertisement on Facebook selling her child.
Concerned citizens reported the advertisement to the Women and Children Protection Center (WCPC) of the Philippine National Police.
Lawmen responded to the post by posing as potential buyers of the child.
Negotiations ensued that led to an agreement that the purchase would be made in Barangay Narra, Catarman, Northern Samar.
Police nabbed the suspect and rescued her two children after completion of the transaction.
Her three children have been turned over to the San Roque Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office for protection.
The suspect faces charges under Republic Act 9208, the Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2022, in connection with RA 7610, also known as the Anti-Child Abuse Law.
