CEBU CITY – Law enforcers in Bohol province have launched a manhunt operation against a suspected robber who escaped after he and two companions clashed with policemen on Saturday, June 1.

Two men died in the shootout which occurred after a gasoline station in Sikatuna town, Bohol was robbed.
The fatalities were identified as Jonas Amen of Tagbilaran City and Ricky Gamo of Alburquerque, Bohol.
Investigation showed that the robbery took place around 9 a.m.
The robbery was reported to the Sikatuna police which alerted their counterparts in neighboring towns and the Bohol Police Provincial Office.
Photos of the three suspects who were aboard on a motorcycle were distributed to various police stations for the conduct of a manhunt operation.
The Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) coordinated with the police stations in the towns of Corella, Cortes, and Balilihan.
While pursuing operatives of PIU were traversing a provincial road in Barangay Anislag, Corella, they spotted three men on a motorcycle whose features matched with those in photos distributed to police stations.
Police flagged down the motorcycle but the driver sped off. A chase then ensued.
The three men decided to abandon the motorcycle around 300 meters away from where the chase started and ran towards a grassy area.
They allegedly fired at the police who returned fire and hit two suspects.
A policeman was also hit but was saved by the bullet proof vest that he was wearing.
The two suspects were taken to the Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital in Tagbilaran City where they were declared dead.
Police are checking reports that the two men were the same persons who were involved in three robberies in the towns of Dauis and Maribojoc and Tagbilaran last month.
