Siargao's land tour offers a budget-friendly way to immerse oneself in the island's vibes and natural beauty.

From lush landscapes to cultural experiences, there is something for everyone to enjoy and experience on the island.

Siargao's magnetic appeal attracts a diverse range of tourists, from children to celebrities, backpackers, and digital nomads. Many find themselves extending their stay on the island, drawn in by its laid-back lifestyle and the opportunity to savor nature's gifts at a leisurely pace.

One of the defining features of Siargao is its relaxed atmosphere, where both locals and tourists opt for casual attire and remove their footwear whenever they enter some establishments. The sight of people riding bikes and scooters with surfboard carriers adds to the island's charm, with a sense of simplicity and connection to nature.

Among the island's popular attractions, the palm tree view and the Burgos coconut road stand out not just for their Instagram-worthy appeal but also for showcasing how locals infuse usual scenes with a touch of magic through their lenses.

Self-taught local photographers who offer their services to tourists capture the essence of Siargao's beauty, highlighting the iconic symmetrical stretch of coconut trees along the concrete road.

While the abundance of coconut trees in the Philippines is a common sight, the unique alignment on the road creates a visual masterpiece that is both striking and symbolic of the island's beauty.

In the municipality of Pilar, the Magpupungko Lagoons and Rock Formations draw visitors' attention with their crystal-clear waters and majestic rock formations. While the tidal pools of Magpupungko only emerge during low tide, their picturesque backdrop creates a mood to relax and renew one's spirit.

Maasin River is a spot where you can try rope swing diving or take a plunge from their wooden diving board, which has different levels depending on how adventurous you are.

The eco-tourism spot also provides livelihood to locals who sell raw “tuway” or clams dipped in spicy vinegar for P10 to P15 each. The vendor said tuway can be eaten within seven days depending on how it is preserved to keep its freshness.

Nestled at the boundary of Barangay Union in Dapa and Barangay Malinao in General Luna lies the Secret Beach or Doot Beach, a slice of heaven boasting powdery white sand and varying shades of mesmerizing blue waters. This secluded haven creates a sanctuary away from the bustling crowds of more popular beaches in Siargao.

Despite its understated charm, the Secret Beach offers a place for a leisurely swim, stand-up paddleboarding, and crystal kayaking.

For those who prefer to bask in the warmth of the sun, Doot Beach provides the perfect setting to unwind and witness the sunset painting the sky in hues of orange and pink. It is a place where time seems to stand still, allowing guests to connect with nature and find peace in the tranquility of this hidden paradise.

After a full day of adventure, the Catangnan Bridge is the best place to enjoy a glimpse of the sunset view with a bottle of beer, street food, Barbie's ice cream, and some music.

Barbie is an American who has been living in Siargao for over two years now. She sells ice cream on the bridge and near Cloud 9, the famous surfing spot on the island.

She chose to move to the Philippines, particularly on the island because of the people and the quality of life. She is also a surfer, a skateboarder, and a member of a dragon boat team.

NOEL Estrada (center), 32, from Tacloban City has grown to love and settled in Siargao Island with his father, Noel Sr. (left). Noel owns a fleet of scooters and welcomes tourists at his KnowWell's Siargao homestay.

Noel Estrada, 32, a native of Tacloban City, is an entrepreneur who also moved to Siargao. Together with his father, he built his businesses from scratch.

Although he has encountered some trouble in paradise, such as super typhoon “Odette” which left a big blow on his business, Noel was able to rebuild and become better.

Once he referred to himself as lost, he found his purpose in Siargao. "Sometimes we need to help ourselves more than seek help from others. We need to look at ourselves in the mirror and say we are great and we can do it."
