"Unity is our ideology."

President Marcos said that the alliance formed by Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) and the Nationalist Unity Party (NUP) is not a mere "marriage of convenience" but an understanding that there is a need to come together to transform the Philippines.

Marcos said this as he led the formal signing ceremony of the alliance of the two political parties in Makati City on Saturday morning, June 29.

In his speech, the President said the "Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas" is more than a political maneuver for the 2025 midterm elections.

"When people come to us and say, 'Pang-politika lang 'yan. Nangyari lang 'yan dahil sa eleksyon. Parating na ang eleksyon (It's just a political move for the elections).' Well, we cannot deny, there is truth to that.," he said.

"It's not a marriage of convenience. It is an understanding that we must come together if we are to transform our country into the modern, safe, sustainable, growing country that we dream of, that we have all dreamed of in all our lifetime," he added.

According to Marcos, the cementing of the alliance between the PFP and the NUP is a tangible expression of their shared commitment to work toward transformation aimed at fostering progress and uplifting the lives of every Filipino.

"We speak now of Bagong Pilipinas, bringing the country, transforming the country to another place to a better place than we had found it," he said.

"We have come to the understanding, and to the agreement, that it can only be achieved if we have unity," he added.

Formed in 2018, the PFP is a national political party chaired by President Marcos.

So far, the PFP has formed alliances with the Lakas–Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) and the Nationalist People's Coalition (NPC).

"The reason we want to support each other in the election is because we want to work together. We want to work with a common purpose in mind with a consensus on what we are trying to do," he said on Saturday.

"And that, I believe, is what we are seeing here today with the alliances, with the coalitions, whatever you want to call them, between the different political parties. We are united behind the dream of transforming the Philippines, and that dream will be achieved by unity," he added.
