MPD joins 2nd quarter nationwide earthquake drill
Elements of the Manila Police District (MPD) conducted earthquake exercises on Friday, June 28, in preparation for unexpected calamities.
The recent National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) was held for second quarter of the year.

Managements of different shopping malls in Manila also participated in the NSED.
MPD director Brig. Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay highlighted the importance of alertness and preparedness in every situation.

The drill included a training to prepare and carry important items such as medical kits, bottled water, and power banks.
The drill also demonstrated the proper way to evacuate and rescue wounded victims using wheelchairs and stretchers.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRMC) reminded the public of the possibility of “The Big One” which could lead to over 60,000 fatalities and 120,000 missing people.
