CEBU CITY – More than 500 individuals were arrested for various offenses in a three-day, region-wide anti-criminality operation in Central Visayas.

The Police Regional Office-Central Visayas (PRO-7) reported that the series of police operations from June 25 to 27 led to the arrest of 590 suspects.
It said that 181 were arrested for illegal drugs and 1.2 kilos of suspected shabu worth P6.1 million were seized.
In the campaign against illegal gambling, 217 persons were arrested and P16,900 in bet money was seized.
The PRO-7 added that 18 persons were arrested for illegal possession of firearms and 102 unregistered firearms and three explosives were recovered.
Fifteen most wanted persons and 159 other wanted persons” were also arrested during the
service of warrants of arrest.
Police Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin, PRO-7 chief, lauded the operational efforts which he said is part of PRO-7’s relentless pursuit for a more secure and peaceful Central Visayas.
“This is the result of consistent anti-criminality efforts all throughout Central Visayas in due observance of the Police Operational Procedures backed up by the unwavering support from the constituents of Central Visayas,” Aberin said.
