Weather outlook for the week ahead: Easterlies, potential LPA to prevail in the Philippines

The country is expected to experience a range of weather conditions over the next few days, mainly due to easterlies and a possible low pressure area (LPA) forming east of Mindanao, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its weekly weather outlook issued on Friday, June 28.

On Saturday, June 29, PAGASA said the entire country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, mostly affecting Quezon province, Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan, Bicol Region, Visayas, and Mindanao due to easterlies.

By Sunday, June 30, PAGASA said the easterlies will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Davao Region, Caraga, and Eastern Visayas.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the archipelago will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with chances of isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

From Monday to Tuesday, July 1 to 2, the entire archipelago will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with localized rain showers or thunderstorms, mostly over the eastern section due to easterlies.

By Wednesday, July 3, PAGASA said there is a possible formation of a low pressure area (LPA) east of Mindanao.

This weather disturbance will initially bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Caraga, Davao Region, and Eastern Visayas.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will remain partly cloudy to cloudy, with the possibility of localized rain showers or thunderstorms.

From Thursday to Friday, July 4 to 5, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Visayas, Bicol Region, Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms as the LPA is expected to move northwestward.

PAGASA said Metro Manila and the rest of the archipelago will continue to be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
