NAIA authorities seize P2-million shabu wrapped in Philippine flag


Authorities seized more than P2 million in illegal drugs, which were found wrapped in parcels that were covered by the Philippine flag at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Pasay City.

NAIA, Bureau of Customs (BOC), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), and the Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (IADITG) personnel first intercepted a parcel that was declared to contain “documents-general business”.

The parcel contained 20 plastic sachets containing suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride), and was sent from 296 Arandia St. Tunasan, Muntinlupa as consignee to Alagua Amado Jr of Arcadia 79 Rome, Italy.

The contraband was stuffed inside a thick logbook.

The other parcel was supposed to be bound for Palau, and was sent form Molino 3,0 Bacoor, Cavite, with a certain Cui Lin Bo of Koror Palau, Fuji B Restaurant, as consignee.

It was declared as “kitchen wall stickers”, and contained an estimated 207.9 grams of shabu. The parcel was wrapped by a Philippine flag, as well as stickers and jacket bearing the national colors.

BOC has turned over the seized drugs to to the NAIA PDEA-IADITG for proper documentation and disposition.
