Although most people take their vision for granted until it's too late, Kapuso talent Ken Chan considers it an essential part of his body and especially helpful in his acting work.

Ken takes good care of his eyes and lists the many different ways they help him in his craft.

As an actor, he reads a lot of scripts, not just for his role as Dr. Lyndon Ramirez Javier in "Abot Kamay na Pangarap" but also for other projects presented to him. For example, he is scheduled to begin shooting a romantic movie with his AKNP co-star Jillian Ward this July.

Ken admitted that good eyesight is also essential for pursuing his favorite hobbies, which are reading books and watching movies.

"As much as possible gusto ko talaga yung nagbabasa. Plus, I need to refresh my mind. Reading good books, or watching good films, or even exploring good sites whenever I travel, especially with my line of work, it's very important," he pointed out.

They say the eyes are the window to the soul and Ken agrees that with just a single look, he can convey a lot of emotions as an actor.

"I rely on my eyes every time I express my character's emotions. So, kung pababayaan ko ang mata ko, wala na akong kikitain.  Wala pa akong makikita," he quipped.

(If I neglect my eyes, I will not see anything. I will not earn anything as well.)

For several years now, Ken has been the face of leading brand Eye Mo which provides a good platform for him to educate his fans and the public that eye care should not be neglected.

"If you ask me guys kung kailan ako nagkaka-dry eyes. Lagi.Maybe because of my environment, sa ginagalawan ko sa set, sa taping, there's a lot of lights. And then a lot of late nights, tapings and shootings. Kapag ang eyes mo dry, makikita talaga, magre-reveal talaga sya. Hindi ka masayang tingnan," Ken observed.

(I always have dry eyes. Maybe because if the environment on the set where are a lot of lights and late nights. Unfortunately, people can easily tell if you have dry eyes. You don't look happy.)

He advised that just a drop or two of Eye Mo Moisturizing Formula is enough to keep away the symptoms of "dry eyes" which many people suffer from because of excessive screen time with gadgets or even with too much use of aircon. When his eyes are itchy because of pollution or other irritants, Ken reaches out for Eye Mo Daily Care Formula.

As an actor who also acts as a host, model, and entrepreneur, Ken shares a few valuable tips for taking care of one's eyes.

First on the list is having a good, balanced diet. Food rich in Vitamins A,C, and E helps maintain one's vision. Leading a healthy lifestyle is also another secret of his.

"I take my vitamins. I avoid straining my eyes too much. Sabi nga ni Doc huwag masyadong mag-phone. So, there's a limited time lang for that.  And, of course, I always bring my Eye-Mo wherever I go," Ken remarked.
