Legoland Malaysia Resort, along with Tourism Malaysia, recently welcomed media guests and tourism industry stakeholders to discover their one-stop family holiday destination in Iskandar Puteri, Johor, Malaysia.
Located just 55 minutes from Singapore’s Changi International Airport and a mere 20 minutes from Johor’s Senai International Airport, this destination offers everything needed for a perfect family getaway. From a thrilling theme park for adventure seekers to a refreshing water park to beat the heat, and an engaging, interactive educational experience at Sea Life.
“Being the only Lego-themed destination in Southeast Asia, it is the ideal family holiday destination with more than 80 hands-on rides, slides, shows, and attractions. Legoland Malaysia Resort brings together a Legoland theme park, water park, hotel and Sea Life in one Lego-themed location. We also house the first Lego-themed hotel in Asia and the only fully-themed hotel in Malaysia,” according to a statement from the company.

Beat the Heat at the water park
Join the fun at Legoland Water Park, where you can splash and slide through 20 water-based rides and explore over 70 Lego model attractions providing perfect photo opportunities and a chance to marvel at the creativity behind these builds.
Opened on October 21, 2013, the water park features private cabanas, lockers, gazebos for additional comfort and relaxation, and two restaurants: Beach Grill and Brick Cafe. Additionally, the Surf Shop retail store offers souvenirs and swimwear.
For younger children, the Duplo Splash Safari provides a safe and enjoyable environment with smaller slides and gentle water features, ensuring even the littlest guests have a memorable time. Additionally, the Build-A-Raft River allows kids and parents to customize their own Lego rafts before floating down a lazy river.
Enjoy thrilling rides for the entire family, including the Lego Wave Pool, Slide Racers, and the interactive Joker Soaker structure, which pours 350 gallons of water.
Enjoy and learn at Sea Life Malaysia
Sea Life Malaysia, which opened on May 9, 2019, offers a captivating journey into marine ecosystems. This aquarium delights visitors with its diverse marine life and interactive exhibits, featuring over 13,000 sea creatures from 120 species displayed across 25 tanks.
Razzak Jamalu, operations manager of Sea Life Malaysia, shared activities available at Sea Life, from behind-the-scenes tours where guests can see the care given to newborns and sick animals, to an intimate underwater four-course meal. This Lego-themed aquarium not only provides a home for marine species but also serves as an educational hub for guests to learn and enjoy.
“Our main aim is to educate guests on marine conservation. We want to ensure that each visitor to Sea Life learns to love the ocean and its animals, and understands the importance of conservation. Specifically, we want to emphasize the critical issue of plastic pollution, encouraging everyone not to throw plastic into the ocean. Our goal is for people to love and protect marine life. In the future, we aim to implement initiatives that strengthen our commitment to protecting the sea and fostering a sense of responsibility within the community,” Jamalu shared.
Ride and explore to your heart's content at Legoland theme park
With over 40 shows, rides, and attractions, Legoland Malaysia offers plenty of activities that the whole family can enjoy.
Opened on September 15, 2012, as Asia's first Legoland park and Malaysia's first international theme park, it is divided into eight themed areas: The Beginning, Lego City, Lego Technic, Lego Kingdoms, Land of Adventure, Imagination, Lego Ninjago World, and Miniland.
There's something for everyone at this theme park. Feeling creative? Test your imagination at the Build and Test Centre or the Lego Mindstorms workshop. If relaxation is more your speed, take a ride on the Legoland Express or the Observation Tower, offering panoramic views of Legoland Malaysia Resort from a height of 41 meters.
For thrill-seekers, Legoland offers adrenaline-pumping rides such as Aquazone Wave Racers, The Great Lego Race, Dino Island, and The Dragon. Be prepared to get wet, as some of these are water rides. And don't miss Miniland, showcasing highly detailed replicas of iconic landmarks from 17 cities and countries across Asia. Fun fact: Spot the Church of St. James the Great, built in 1609 and located in Bolinao, Philippines, recreated in this area.
Stay the night at the Legoland Hotel
After enjoying the park's attractions, guests can unwind at Legoland Hotel, featuring themes inspired by pirates, adventures, the Ninjago universe, and kingdoms.
Opened on November 29, 2013, the hotel offers 263 rooms accommodating up to five people (three adults and two children), equipped with a king-sized bed, a bunk bed, a pull-out trundle bed, an entertainment unit, and a Friends Treasure Box that visitors can unlock for a special Lego set.
The hotel also boasts amenities such as an indoor swimming pool, a garden, and dining options including Bricks Family Restaurant, Di Mattoni, and Kai’s Sushi.
