Buyogan Festival tops Kasadyaan 2024


TACLOBAN CITY – The Buyogan Festival of Abuyog, Leyte dominated the Kasadyaan Festival of Festivals 2024 here which returned after a four-year hiatus on Thursday, June 27.

Buyogan Festival won P800,000, Best in Festival Music, and Best in Festival Costume and the choreographer bagged P25,000.

Coming in second was the Karayhakan Festival of Javier, Leyte which won P600,000 and a trophy.

The Lingganay Festival of Alangalang, Leyte was third and earned P400,000 and a trophy.

The Buraburon Festival of Burauen, Leyte pocketed the special award Best in Production Number.

The last champion – the Pasaka Festival of Tanauan, Leyte – failed to enter the Top 3  this year.

Ten contingents from different municipalities in Leyte competed this year despite not being allowed to parade on the streets by the city government.

Other entries were the Hiraite Festival of Leyte, Himorasak Festival of Matag-ob, Tabontabon Festival of Tabontabon, Magsanga Festival of Merida, and Bagong Festival of Babatngon. They received consolation prizes.
