Man arrested for illegal possession of firearm, shabu in Parañaque City

A man reported for creating public disturbance was arrested by members of the Parañaque City Police Sto. Niño Substation on Thursday, June 27.

The Southern Police District (SPD) identified the suspect as alias Errol, 25. He was arrested at around 5:50 p.m. along Santos Compound in Barangay Sto. Nino, Parañaque City.

Based on the police report, officers conducting anti-criminality patrol received a complaint from a concerned citizen about a man carrying a firearm who was yelling and harassing people.

Upon arrival of the police at the incident area, Errol took his gun, placed it inside his sling bag, and tried to escape from the policemen who later caught him.

Recovered from the suspect were a .38 caliber revolver with three live ammunitions, three spent cartridges and one coin purse containing six live ammunitions. Errol also yielded P20,400 worth of shabu.

"The confiscated shabu were turned over to the SPD Forensic Unit for quantitative and qualitative analysis while the confiscated firearm will undergo verification and ballistic examination," the SPD said.

The suspect was detained at the police custodial facility after his arrest and will also be subjected to a paraffin test.
