Man arrested for running amuck in Quezon

MULANAY, Quezon – Police arrested a 54-year-old farmer who ran amuck on Thursday evening, June 27, in Barangay Pakiing, this town.

Investigation said that the suspect Mark and his mother-in-law, Lucia, 54, had a heated argument.

Lucia punched Mark’s face, which irked the suspect and prompted him to get and fire his improvised shotgun.

The incident created fear among residents and was reported to the police.

Police arrived one hour later but the suspect destroyed his firearm by slamming it on the pavement.

He was arrested and police recovered the firearm with a fired cartridge inside the tube and a bolo.

The suspect faces charges for violation the comprehensive law on firearms and ammunition, illegal discharge of firearms, physical injury, and alarm and scandal.
