TACLOBAN CITY – Two teenage girls were killed in a collision between a motorcycle and a truck on Thursday, June 27, in Barangay Minuswang, Barugo, Leyte.

The victims, aged 15 and 16, were both students and residents of the municipality.
Police said the victims were on their way to Barugo from Carigara, Leyte, when their motorcycle crossed into the opposite lane and collided head-on with the truck.
The victims sprawled on the concrete pavement and sustained serious injuries.
Police arrived and found debris from the motorcycle and the truck scattered on the road and the victims lying on the road.
They were taken to a hospital where they were pronounced dead.
The driver of the truck who was unharmed was temporarily placed under the custody of the Barugo Municipal Police Station.
