Zamboanga City cop neutralizes 2 gunmen

ZAMBOANGA CITY -- A Zamboanga City policeman neutralized two men who shot and killed a bystander in Zamboanga City on Tuesday, June 25.

The policeman who was on his way to work was riding his motorcycle on Talon Talon  Loop Road when he spotted two suspicious looking men riding a motorcycle in front of him.

The backrider pulled out a gun and shot a bystander dead.  The victim was identified as Nadzmer Azcali.

The policeman disembarked from his motorcycle and shot the suspects, resulting in an exchange of gunfire between them.  

One of the suspects, identified as Said, was killed while his cohort, Mujib Kalon, was wounded and taken to a hospital after sustaining bullet wounds. The policeman was unharmed.

Police recovered a .45 caliber pistol and fired cartridges and slugs from the crime scene.

Investigators are looking into illegal drugs and personal grudge as  possible motives in the killing.
