SAN FERNANDO CITY, Pampanga – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Central Luzon seized 1,350 milliliters of liquid cocaine worth P8.5 million from a Colombian national during a controlled delivery operation in Barangay San Antonio, Makati City on Tuesday night, June 25.

The PDEA-Central Luzon identified the suspect as Santiago Francisco Amado Sopo, alias Antonio Cordero, 32.
The parcel containing the illegal substance was intercepted at the Port of Clark in Pampanga on June 21.
"The liquid cocaine originated in Colombia and was concealed in a shipment that raised suspicions during routine inspection at the port. The discovery of the drugs prompted PDEA to launch a controlled delivery operation targeting the consignee in Makati City," PDEA-Central Luzon said.
Recovered from the suspect were a brown box with three plastic bottle containers each containing liquid cocaine, two identification cards, and a cellular phone.
The operation was led by the PDEA-Central Luzon with the PDEA-National Capital Region, Bureau of Customs- Port of Clark, and police.
The suspect faces a non-bailable case of violating Section 4 (importation of dangerous drugs) of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
