A fetus placed inside a jar was found floating along with some garbage in a creek in Barangay 51, Tondo, Manila on Wednesday morning, June 26.
According to the authorities, the fetus was estimated to be four-months old.
The authorities said two waterway cleaners or "Estero Rangers" from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) were collecting garbage from Canal Dela Reyna creek when they noticed the jar.
The cleaners told the authorities that they found the jar at 8:45 a.m. while they were having a clearing operation in Canal Dela Reyna. They immediately took the jar and brought it to the barangay hall.
The Manila Police District (MPD) is now investigating the incident.
Police are now backtracking the CCTV footages available in the area to identify the person who threw the fetus into creek.
