Couple yields shabu in Iloilo City buy-bust

ILOILO CITY – A couple yielded suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Maria Clara, City Proper District here by the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) on Tuesday night, June 25.

Arrested by the Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) led by Police Lt. Col. Antonio Benitez Jr. were Edgar and Jacky, both 53-years-old.

Recovered from them were 110 grams of shabu valued at P748,000.

The suspects originally from Negros Occidental province and reportedly market vendors here were said to be high-value drug suspects.

The ICPO-CDEU and backup unit ICPO-City Proper Police Station were cited by the Police Regional Office-6 for their accomplishment.

“Keep up the good work. Your output clearly speaks of your commitment towards your sworn duty,” said Police Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky, PRO-6 director. “Encourage these suspects to reveal their cohorts in the illegal drug trade,” added Wanky.

Wanky earlier said there is a possibility that there is a new drug group in the region as large volumes have been seized from newly identified drug suspects.
