The bar on A.S. Fortuna St., Barangay Banilad, was raided on Friday, June 21.

A woman, who allegedly acted as “mamasang” or pimp of the bar workers, was arrested.

Charges for violation of Republic Act 10364 or the Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2012 were filed against Riza Novela.

Information that the bar was offering sexual services to customers came from concerned citizens, the NBI-Cebdo said.

Prior to the raid, two poseur-customers went to the bar and were entertained by what the establishment described as customer care assistants (CCAs).

The NBI-Cebdo said it was the mamasang who asked the CCAs to line up to enable  the customers to choose who to table with.

For P600, a CCA would “sit, sing, or dance” with a customer.

The undercover agents were able to “take out” two CCAs for dinner before they proceeded to a motel.

Personnel of the Department of Social Welfare and Development and Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking were present during the raid.
