A woman was rescued after she allegedly fell from the platform of the Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1) onto the train tracks at the Doroteo Jose Station in Manila, on Tuesday, June 25.

Based on a statement released by the Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC), the woman suddenly "jumped" onto the train tracks as a train was approaching the southbound lane of Doroteo Jose Station.

"The LRMC team was able to respond immediately and assess the passenger status," the statement said.

The LMRC said it suspended the train operation at 12:42 p.m. due to the incident.

The woman sustained minor injuries from the fall.

"Per initial assessment, the passenger was conscious and sustained minor injury. The passenger was immediately brought to the nearest hospital for treatment and turned over to the proper authorities," the LRMC announced.

The management later resumed the train operations at 12:59 p.m.

Meanwhile, the Manila Police District (MPD) said the 50-year-old woman was rushed to Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center.

According to the initial investigation, the victim's husband told the authorities that his wife had health history of hypertension and stroke.

He said that his wife might have possibly lost her consciousness while casually waiting for a train bound to LRT Baclaran station.

Netizens talked about the viral video wherein the train was seen hitting the woman's head before it fully stopped, causing her to almost be run over by the train.
