The official defended the video, which she said was self-explanatory and straightforward.

“Anong meaning nun? Hindi naman siguro na kailangan i-interpret ‘yon (What other meaning could it have? It doesn’t need interpretation),” she said during an ambush interview in Cagayan de Oro City.

“Very straightforward yon, tinanong ako kung ano iyong sugat na nasa leeg ko at sinabi ko na sinubukan nila akong i-gurgur pero hindi sila nagtagumpay (That’s very straightforward, I was asked about the scar on my neck and I said they tried to hurt me but they didn’t succeed),” she added.

Duterte was referring to a video where she was asked about the wound or scar on her neck.

The Vice President answered, “Sinubukan nila akong i-gurgur pero hindi sila nagtagumpay (They tried to hurt me but they didn’t succeed).”

She even made a hand gesture of a knife being poked at her neck.

But asked who she’s referring to “sila (they),” the Vice President replied “silang lahat (all of them).”

Netizens have been asking and even poking fun at the scar on Duterte’s neck, which had been evident in recent sightings of her, including the video where she resigned as Department of Education (DepEd) secretary.

Meanwhile, Duterte showed her support for LGBTQ+ rights and inclusivity during the OVP Pride Reception, which was in line with the country’s celebration of Pride Month.

To recognize the resilience and achievements of LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs, the OVP’s “Mag Negosyo ta ‘Day” granted P15,000 each to some 20 members of the LGBTQ+ community in Cagayan de Oro City.

“These grants aim to sustain microenterprises such as sari-sari stores, food vending, beauty salons and parlors, and hair and makeup services,” the OVP said in a statement.

“The OVP Pride Reception aims to amplify voices, raise awareness, and foster dialogue that advances LGBTQ+ rights and acceptance within Philippine society,” it added.
