This project helps simplify complex climate concepts for students
Vital step to champion environmental inclusion
By Mat Richter
Clean energy provider First Gen Corp. has launched its eco-program "Create for the Climate" to help elementary students understand complex climate change concepts through storytelling sessions and action projects.
Under the program, students create presentations showcasing their improved understanding and perspectives on climate science. Meanwhile, pupils implementing climate action projects can receive school supplies, grocery packs, gift certificates, and medals.

According to the company, over 600 students in 52 groups from Batangas City, Nueva Ecija, Camarines Sur, Bukidnon, and Agusan del Norte accepted the challenge. It will offer seed funds to schools with the most innovative entries for environmental awareness.
Most projects include creating plant boxes, plant guards, trash containers, and eco-bricks using discarded materials that students collected from cleanup drives.
First Gen power plants run on renewable energy sources, including hydro, geothermal, wind, solar, and natural gas.
