Revilla calls for urgent release of instruction for CAVITEX 30-day toll suspension

Senator Ramon "Bong" Revilla, Jr. said on Tuesday morning (June 25) asked the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) called for the urgent issuance of a formal resolution to commence the implementation of the 30-day toll holiday in parts of CAVITEX.

President Marcos announced that the collection of toll fee for all vehicles passing through CAVITEX in Taguig, Parañaque, Las Piñas, Bacoor, and Kawit is suspended for 30 days.

The said month-long toll suspension was announced by President Marcos during the three-fold CAVITEX event for the groundbreaking ceremony of the CAVITEX-CALAX Link, groundbreaking ceremony of the CAVITEX C5 Link Segment 3B, and the inauguration of the CAVITEX C5 Link Sucat Interchange (Segment 2), held on Friday, June 21.

PRA, as the operator of CAVITEX, will implement the said toll holiday in Taguig, Parañaque, Las Piñas, and Kawit. Though no target date was mentioned for the commencement of the suspension, the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) was directed for swift implementation of the order.

“I am appealing to TRB to speed up the issuance of the pertinent resolution necessary for the implementation of the toll holiday in CAVITEX. We cannot delay this, especially that it is no less than the President that has ordered for the suspension of toll collection,” Revilla said.

“Ang toll holiday na ito ay malaking bagay para mabawasan ang gastos ng mga motorista. Kaya sana ay huwag nang patagalin dahil inaasahan nila to. Bilisan na dapat ng TRB ang paglabas ng resolusyon para mapakinabangan na ng ating mga kababayan ang libreng daan sa mga parte ng CAVITEX (This toll holiday is huge thing for motorists to reduce their costs. I hope this won't take long because they are expecting it. The TRB should hasten the release of the resolution so the public can benefit from the free toll in parts of CAVITEX),” he added.

The Public Estates Authority Tollway Corporation (PEATC), a subsidiary of PRA, said that once TRB issues the said resolution, they will promptly implement the 30-day toll suspension.
