The city government of Parañaque is set to receive Green Banner Seal of Compliance award for effective implementation of nutrition program based on the Philippine Action Plan for Nutrition in 2023.

Parañaque City Mayor Eric Olivarez said the National Nutrition Council-National Capital Region awarded the city with the Green Banner Seal of Compliance for three consecutive years, the highest recognition in the nutrition competition.

“Bilang Chairman ng City Nutrition Committee ng ating mahal na Parañaque, kami ay nagagalak na tayo po ay kinilala ng National Nutrition Council at pinarangalan ng Green Banner Seal of Compliance Award sa pangatlong pagkakataon (As chairman of City Nutrition Committee, we are proud that the National Nutrition Council recognized the city with Green Banner Seal of Compliance for the third time)," Olivarez said.

He said the award showed the city’s commitment to eliminate malnutrition and promoting proper nutrition.

“Kasama ang aking maybahay na si Aileen, na siya ring City Nutrition Action Officer, at sa lahat ng bumubuo ng City Nutrition Committee, asahan ninyo na aming pagtitibayin ang pagbaba ng mga programa para makamit natin ang ating adhikain na gawing modelo ang lungsod ng Parañaque sa larangan ng nutrisyon.” (Together with my wife, Aileen, who acts as Nutrition Officer and the team of City Nutrition Committee, we will be working hard on nutrition program to achieve our goal in making the City of Parañaque a model on nutrition program), Olivarez added.

The mayor said the city is set to receive the recognition at the Regional Nutrition Awarding Ceremony on June 26 at Novotel Hotel in Quezon City.
