Leader of ‘Chavez Criminal Group’ arrested in Pasig City  


The Pasig City Police announced on Monday, June 24, the arrest of the leader of the notorious “Chavez Criminal Group” in a manhunt operation in Barangay Caniogan, Pasig City.

Police identified the suspect as alias Jerry, 23, a resident of Barangay Caniogan.

Chavez was arrested at around 12 a.m. on Sunday, June 23, in a joint manhunt operation conducted by the Pasig Police Station Intelligence Unit, Special Reaction Unit, and RMFB4A 404th Maneuver Company.

The operatives nabbed Jerry while on board a parked motorcycle on Mahogany Dela Paz Street in Barangay Caniogan by virtue of a warrant of arrest.

Police said the warrant was issued by Judge Maria Gracia Cadiz Casaclang of  Regional Trial Court Branch 155 in Pasig City on March 22 for the crime of robbery, with a recommended bail of P72,000.

The suspect is now detained at the custodial facility of the Pasig City Police while waiting for the commitment order from the court.
