'Lab for All': Around 5,000 Mandaleños receive free laboratory services, medicines


Around 5,000 Mandaluyong City residents on Monday, June 24, benefited from the national government's "Lab For All: Laboratoryo, Konsulta at Gamot Para sa Lahat” program aimed at providing free medical consultations and medicines to Filipinos.

Mandaluyong City Mayor Ben Abalos, together with First Lady Liza Marcos and other city government officials and executives, led the program held at the Mandaluyong College of Science and Technology (MCST) Gymnasium.

Also present during the event were Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benhur Abalos, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) President and CEO Emmanuel Ledesma, Pag-lBIG Fund CEO Marilene Acosta, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Director General Samuel Zacate, Public Attorney's Office (PAO) Chief Persida Rueda-Acosta, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Secretary Suharto Mangudadatu, Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac, and Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rexlon Gatchalian.

The Lab for All program was launched in May last year by the President and the First Lady with the goal of bringing a community-based healthcare project supporting Republic Act No. 11223 or the Universal Health Care Act.

The initiative aims to provide free laboratory services, free x-ray, free consultation with specialists, and free medicines for the Filipino community.
