The excitement surrounding the upcoming Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference is rubbing off on Kianna Dy as she hopes to make her much-awaited debut with the PLDT High Speed Hitters.

After a long layoff from an unspecified knee injury she sustained nearly a year ago, the 28-year-old opposite spiker made no effort to hide her eagerness to return in action following the PVL Draft Lottery on Monday, June 24.
“It’s pretty exciting for the draft since it’s the first ever. I’m excited on how that’s gonna turn out. Very exciting for the new players [coming in],” Dy told Manila Bulletin on the sidelines after watching her long-time boyfriend Dwight Ramos’ Gilas Pilipinas send-off tuneup match.
Dy missed last year’s entire Second All-Filipino Conference with the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers, who eventually ended up disbanding at the conclusion of the season.
Despite her current physical state, it didn’t take long for Dy to find a new home as she was signed by PLDT shortly after, injured and all.
“We don’t have a specific date yet for when I can come back. But personally, I can see that there’s been progress. Because we take it day by day, hopefully, it’s getting better every day,” said Dy.
“Maybe [I will come back this coming conference]. I can’t say yes, I can’t say no,” she insisted.
The 5-foot-10 spiker has been regularly practicing with the High Speed Hitters, and seems to be only waiting for clearance to formally join the squad.
Dy was also F2 Logistics’ top scoring option before the injury and will be expected to make the same significant contributions for PLDT, which is looking to run it back with Russian Elena Samoilenko as its import for the upcoming conference.
Due to the FIVB schedule last year, PVL decided to shelve the import-laden conference after a successful run in 2022 that saw the Petro Gazz Angels emerge as champions.
