Senator Sherwin Gatchalian is convinced that the Chinese military uniforms found during a raid at a Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) hub in Porac, Pampanga on Monday, June 24 were the genuine article.

"Ongoing pa verification whether itong uniform ay ginamit ng military personnel, pero para sa akin authentic siya," Gatchalian told reporters.

(The verification on whether or not these were used by military personnel is ongoing, but for me they are authentic.)

Not only does Gatchalian believe that the uniforms are the real deal, he also has a theory as to how the uniforms ended up at the POGO hub.

"Dala dala ito ng mga operators. Dito makikita natin na itong mga POGO hub meron ding scalawag sa China military, police pumupunta dito," he said.

(The operators brought them here. Here, we can see that these POGO hubs have scalawags who came from the Chinese military and police.)

"Sila ang sanay sa torture, sila ang sanay sa illegal [detention], sila ang gumagawa ng di magaganda. Malakas ang loob nila, di rin natin maalis kung may links pa sila sa China military," said the veteran solon.

(They are the ones used to carrying out torture, they are the ones used to carrying out illegal detention, they are the ones who do no good. They are brave, and we can't dismiss if they also have links with China military.)

But Gatchalian reiterated that his theory that the uniforms were used by foreign "scalawag rouge military" personnel was merely his "personal analysis".

POGOs gained a bad reputation among Philippine lawmakers after several criminal activities were linked to them.
