The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said the celebration of Pride Month on Saturday, June 22, was “generally peaceful.”

Authorities reported that no anomalies occurred during the festival.
The event was composed of three major activities: graduation rites, a food and art expo, and a Pride March.
The Pride program, Pride Market, and Pride Night were attended by over 200,000 members and supporters of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, and Asexual (LGBTQIA+) community, advocates, and allies.
QCPD Director Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan attributed the positive outcome of the event to the personnel of QCPD and local government agencies, such as the Department of Public Order and Safety (DPOS), Traffic and Transport Management Department (TTMD), and Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO).
He also acknowledged other agencies, including the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), for ensuring public safety throughout the celebration.
Authorities also stated that they ensured attendees' security by collaborating with volunteers to maintain order.
They added that first aid stations and emergency response teams were on standby to respond to emergencies.
They also kept reminding participants and attendees to stay vigilant and safeguard their belongings during the event.
QCPD said that the festival has become a symbol of unity, love, and equality, celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community and promoting inclusivity and acceptance.
Meanwhile, Maranan expressed gratitude for the public's cooperation and the support of various organizations.
He also thanked and deeply appreciated the efforts of all QCPD personnel deployed in the area.
"The success of this year's festival is a testament to the collaborative efforts of the QCPD, volunteers, organizers, and the community. It shows that through unity and respect, peaceful and joyous celebrations are possible. The QCPD remains committed to ensuring the safety of all QCitizens,” he said.
On Sunday, June 23, Quezon City Mayor Josefina "Joy" Belmonte commended the exemplary service of the QCPD for the successful security coverage during the event.
Belmonte expressed gratitude for the collaborative efforts of all agencies involved, particularly the heightened police presence of the QCPD to maintain peace in the area.
Maranan showed appreciation to Belmonte for trusting QCPD to handle the event.
“I am honored by the exceptional efforts of our police officers, who demonstrated extraordinary vigilance and commitment, ensuring the event was safe and successful. Your dedication and hard work are truly remarkable and appreciated. Thank you, and congratulations!” Maranan said.
“I would also like to sincerely thank Mayor Joy Belmonte for her trust and appreciation of QCPD. Surely, this will inspire us to excel more in doing our best,” he added.
