Cops kill gun-for-hire killed in encounter

MAUBAN, Quezon – The alleged leader of a gun-for-hire syndicate was killed in a shootout with police on Saturday night, June 22, in Sitio Tejero, Barangay Lual Bo, this town.

Police identified the fatality as Ronnie llao Hernandez, 41, head of the Hernandez gun-for-hire group.

Lawmen arrived at the suspect’s house to serve warrants of arrest for murder and frustrated murder issued by a court in Lucena City, Quezon.

Hernandez fired at approaching lawmen and one of them was hit but was safe due to the body armor he was wearing.

Lawmen returned fire and the suspect sustained two bullet wounds in the chest.

He was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.

Recovered from the suspect were a grenade, bullets, guns, a toy gun, suspected shabu, and drug paraphernalia.
